Ok so tons of videos of peoples home being destroyed by burst pipes.

why aren’t they shutting the water off!!

Is my plan correct?

1. in event of sustained outage turn off water at main valve in the basement

2. Start up stairs flush all toilets and turn wall valves off. Drain all sinks/faucets

3. repeat step 2 on first floor

4. Pour alcohol into each drain sink and toilet for the Ptraps(no sewage odor and alcohol won’t freeze)
