Where are we as of today?

I've been so called "prepping" for decades. Personally I hate that word as it's now been conditioned to mean, to anyone who doesn't prepare, that those who do are some kind of lose cannon. For me, it's pretty much just a way of life to be prepared. But as of today, where are we? Defcon 3,4, or 5? Have things changed that much or is it just more of the same.
