Grid Down Lessons Learned

Our town had an interesting Labor Day weekend. On Sunday afternoon a microburst took down 90 power poles, and damaged the main line towers. The entire town and surrounding county area lost power and some people are still without (it’s Thursday now). We lost ALL communications, no cell service, no cable, the broadband wireless, the local radio station (is still off air), even 911 was down for several hours, and nothing on the emergency network.
