I have a question here from a family member I could not answer, since Im not a "modern" auto technician.

If changing a dead battery on a newer vehicle, will a reprogramming of the computer be required for the car to run properly?

Im guessing one may lose user settings like seats, radio(information center) hvc, etc, but actual car/engine should start and work fine.

Any informied thoughts?
