I’ve been mulling over this idea of evacuations and wondering if there is a SOP for timeframes related to specific incidences in the disaster preparedness community that responders follow. Or is it just off the cuff decisions made by local entities.

Obviously, there are millions of scenarios. I’m just wondering what incidences are trained for and what protocol there is for evacuations. Example: gas explosion… evacuation of all homes in a (fill in the blank) radius. How much time do you have…
