The Office of National Statistics ONS has said 12,786 knife offenses were carried out in London over the year to March 2023 – this is a 16% rise from the year before. Recorded sexual offenses have also seen a 20% jump since 2019/20.

A ONS Crime Survey for England and Wales for the year ending March 2023 suggest people aged 16 and over experienced 8.7 million offences.
