Like a lot of us here, my ultimate goal is to be totally self sufficient. I was thinking about electricity today and what might it look like to be off the grid?

Outdoor clothes line and indoor clothes racks for drying
Wood stove heat
No tv or internet = big loss (sarcasm)
Would need some sort of light source – oil lamps ? home made candles ? outdoor solar powered garden lights brought in for use as personal candles ?
A well with a manual pump, or maybe a stream nearby ?
Manual tools versus…
