Do you hear gunshots from your house?

I live in a metro of 1mil in a middle class neighborhood and have never heard any gunfire in my immediate neighborhood even on New Year’s Eve or Fourth of July but occasionally in the middle of the night I hear from a distance of I’m guessing a mile or more someone knocking off magazines of rounds always in rapid fire, I count when I hear and always count off strings of 10, 15, 20 and 30, a brief pause for reloading and running another mag or 2, there’s open land within 2-5 miles of me so…
