Testing your precious metals
Does anyone here test their precious metals? Been wondering if it would worth the investment to buy a good tester. Sigma Metalytics makes two models, one for around $1100 and the "pro" model for $2000. These both measure conductivity of the sample. You select the type of coin (gold/silver, weight, purity) and the display shows an indicator in a range. It even has settings for Gold Eagles, which are alloyed with both silver and copper, and Krugerrands, which are alloyed only with copper…
