I use several different starters for fires in my woodstove. One which works pretty well for certain circumstances is sawdust and oil mixture. I've used it for a few years now, I keep a can full sitting on my porch. As I was mixing up a new batch today it occurred to me that the mix is kind of a recipe for spontaneous combustion.

Anyone heard of such a thing happening???

I decided to leave the can outside in the snow, not very handy but maybe better safe than sorry.
