besides using a flashlight to light your path in the dark I think the next most important thing it can do is work on stuff in the dark. I don't mean changing a tire or fixing your engine, I mean small stuff like sharpening your knife, small repairs on small items, cleaning, disassemble/reassemble small parts, that kind of stuff. and a small flashlight with low output is much better than a bright one. there is such a thing as too much light.
