How has the prepper, or at the very least the image of prepper evolved?

There was a member who posted something in the firearm section, stating and I’m crudely paraphrasing, you’re consider crazy if you have 10k rounds of ammo and 40 guns. I thought to myself is that number, 10/40?
Are you “crazy” (I really hate using quotations) if you exceed x number?
If you have 6 months of food? 1 year?
How many gallons of water?
Guns and ammo?
Surveillance system?
Quantity…
